At the PFMA Parrot Nutrition Symposium 2022, British Pet Insurance spread their wings.
British Pet Insurance were delighted to sponsor the PFMA Parrot Nutrition Symposium 2022 at The Oakfield in Chester Zoo. An exceptional chance for networking and learning for all professionals and keepers of parrots to share knowledge and best practises on feeding, nutrition, and behaviour.
The participants in attendance benefited from the richness of knowledge offered by a remarkable assortment of experienced industry specialists. The day was jam-packed with interesting, perceptive, and endearing stories about their affection for parrots and their keepers. Keepers, nutritionists, veterinarians, and charity officials were among the delegates.
“It was a delight to support PFMA’s Parrot Nutrition Symposium, and to meet with a variety of parrot experts, keepers, and hobbyists to discuss current best practise for feeding, nutrition, behaviour, and welfare of captive parrots,” said Lorraine Nash, Commercial Partner and Sales Manager.
The panel of speakers gave engaging presentations that outlined the results of several studies and illuminated crucial information that attendees needed to know, sparking more delegate conversations.
The symposium featured speakers who shared their expertise with others in attendance, including:
• Dr. Isabelle Kalmar DVM PhD – R&D Expert, Versele-Laga Belgium & Co-Chair of Fediaf Small Pets Working Group
• Tariq Abou-Zahr DipECZM (Avian) MRCVS – Exotic Animal Veterinary Surgeon
• Lauren Samet – Animal Nutritionist, Chester Zoo
• Mark Vercoe – Deputy Curator of Birds, Chester Zoo
• Alan Jones MRCVS – Chairman of The Parrot Society
Arcadia, the expert in bird lighting, and British Pet Insurance were both thrilled to be able to sponsor the event.
