(A)  We may set our own cookies in order to;

  1. track clicks on our own adverts (for example from paid search engine results or from site within our own affiliate scheme)
  2. allow you to make use of the products/services we offer
  3. determine how our website is being used
  4. gather information for remarketing and ‘similar audience’ campaigns using Google Inc Analytics.

    a. The remarketing feature enables online advertising to be targeted at past website visitors using information gathered from cookies. The following statement is taken from Google, and explains how cookies for remarketing are used:

    We (Brooks Braithwaite (Sussex) Ltd) “and third party vendors, including Google use the data gathered from first party cookies (such as the Google Analytics cookie) and third party cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) together to inform, optimize and serve ads based on your past visits to our website”.

    Remarketing can be effective as past website visitors have already demonstrated an interest in what the website has to offer, meaning they are more likely to be interested in the advertisements message.   Advertisements are shown across the Google Display platform or Google Search.

    b. The ‘similar audiences’ feature enables online advertising to be targeted at new audiences who may be interested in Brooks Braithwaite (Sussex) Ltd. The ‘similar audiences’ are selected based on shared interests and characteristics of those people on the remarketing lists compared to visitor data across the Google Display Network.  Once a similar audience list is compiled by Google, advertising is then targeted to those people across the Google Display platform and Google search.

    c. Advertisements for remarketing and ‘similar audience’ campaigns can be served by third party vendors including Google and are shown across the Google Display platform and Google search.

5. For display advertising (Google Display Impression Network reporting).
